Studio-Style Newborn Photography in the Comfort of Your Pittsburgh Home

Bringing a newborn home is one of the most tender, unforgettable chapters of your life; and capturing those first days shouldn’t come with stress, diaper bags, or trying to leave the house on two hours of sleep.

That’s where I come in.

Hi, I’m Mallory; a Pittsburgh newborn photographer with a traveling studio. I bring everything you’d find in a traditional photography studio right to your home. Think: professional lighting, backdrops, wraps, props, and posing tools; all without you having to step outside.

Whether you’re dreaming of posed, studio-style images or relaxed, lifestyle family photos (or a little of both!), I’ve got you covered.

What is a Traveling Studio?

A traveling studio gives you the best of both worlds: the classic, clean look of studio newborn portraits and the convenience of staying home. I pack and bring a full setup directly to you, including:

  • Professional lighting and backdrops

  • A variety of wraps, headbands, bonnets, and props

  • Cozy posing surfaces and blankets

  • My newborn-safe posing expertise

Your baby stays cozy, your toddler can nap in their own bed, and you get timeless portraits without the logistics of a studio trip.

What Kind of Newborn Photos Can I Get?

Every session is tailored to your preferences. Want sleepy, posed images with a beautiful studio backdrop? Done. Hoping for a few snuggly lifestyle shots in the nursery or on your bed? Let’s do it.

Here’s what your session can include:

  • Posed studio-style newborn portraits

  • Lifestyle family photos

  • Sibling + parent shots

  • Macro details (those tiny fingers and toes!)

When to Book Your Session

The sweet spot for posed newborn photos is typically when baby is between 5–14 days old. This is when they’re the sleepiest and most flexible for those sweet, curled-up poses. But don’t worry; if your baby is a bit older, we can still capture beautiful moments.

I recommend reaching out during your second or early third trimester to ensure availability on my calendar.

I recommend booking your due date in your early third trimester!

Preparing for Your In-Home Studio Session

You don’t need to prep much; just a warm space, a fed baby. I’ll guide you through everything else.

A few quick tips:

  • Turn up the heat a bit (babies love warmth!)

  • Feed baby right before I arrive for those sleepy vibes

  • Pick a room with the most natural light (but I do bring lighting too!)

Serving Pittsburgh & Surrounding Areas

Based near Pittsburgh, I bring my full traveling studio setup to homes across the region, including:

  • Mt. Lebanon

  • South Hills

  • Cranberry Township

  • Wexford

  • Sewickley

Wherever you are in the Pittsburgh metro (plus), I’ll come to you; studio-quality portraits, zero commute.
